What is Basement & Below-Ground Waterproofing?
Below-ground waterproofing (often called structural waterproofing) protects basements, cellars and semi-buried walls from groundwater. Because these structures sit below the water table, they are under continuous hydrostatic pressure. Waterproofing is designed to BS 8102 standards and generally takes one of two forms: a bonded waterproof tanking system applied directly to the walls, or a cavity drainage membrane system that manages water to a discreet sump and pump. The right solution depends on the structure, the water conditions and how the space will be used.
